06/2009 MOBILY CALLS ON IGE

“Our participation in this year’s Gitex has been a success beyond imagination, as it has always been, and this time around we have truly outdone ourselves and others. Such success and distinction would not have been possible without your stoic, thorough efforts to make Mobily the undisputed star of the show.” - CEO, Mobily

Saudi Arabia accounts for a massive 40% of sales of all computer and IT applications in the Middle East.* This demand explains why Saudi Arabia’s leading mobile operator Mobily is one of the fastest growing telecom operators in the world.

Staying on the cutting edge in this industry is difficult enough … trying to fight off the competition when you hold a coveted spot like Mobily is even harder. Mobily has risen to the top by introducing new ideas and setting new standards for the rest of the industry.

When it came time for the 8th International Information Technology Exhibition in Saudi Arabia, Gitex 2009, Mobily wanted to demonstrate its extreme technological sophistication while staying customer-friendly. After visiting the award-winning Toyota exhibit that Inter-Global Exhibitions (IGE) designed at the Jeddah Motor Show in 2008, Mobily knew IGE could position their exhibit as “the Latest State-of-the-Art Technology.”

The exhibit would be more than 1,638 sqm and needed to be constructed in Saudi Arabia in under two weeks. Carpenters worked around the clock to create 10 areas in the exhibit: Blue Wave, 3D theater, Mobily Business, Fallah, Neqaty, Internet Café, Jukebox, Demonstration Area, Raqi, and Entertainment Area. Each feature area is uniquely designed to fit the products and services Mobily provides while remaining under the Mobily brand umbrella. Frosted 3-panel glass walls divide the areas.

A few highlighted areas:
• Blue Wave was a lounge space where Al-Hilal players could interact with the crowd while attendees viewed the display case filled with player jerseys and trophies.
• Mobily Business was equipped for the sales team to get down to business in meeting rooms with presentation counters.
• Fallah was an area targeting the younger demographic. The Fallah experience enticed attendees to ride a Segway and move a soccer ball to the opposite end for a prize.

The overall exhibit positioned Mobily’s brand as the client hoped: energetic, progressive, contemporary, open, respectful and successful. The Mobily logo could be found through the exhibit: flooring, back walls, furniture and ceilings.

The exhibit was constructed on time and Mobily reported a successful exhibit experience. The exhibit design well represented the Mobily’s brand message as the most advanced and convenient mobility and internet solution.
